Homework for Tuesday, February 17

There are links to two stories about love below. The first one is from the Seattle Times, a daily newspaper, and the second one is from National Public Radio. Read both stories and do your individual assignment below. Each of you will be writing questions for one of the readings. I will choose the best questions for a lab assignment on Tuesday. (This is not a group assignment even though there are two people assigned to the same thing. )

  1. Mohamed and Fatima: Write 5 True/False questions.
  2. Danny, Heal and Takuya: Write 5 Wh- questions. (Who, what, when, why, etc.)
  3. Hang and Dahye: Choose 5 words from the reading and write 5 fill-in-the-blank sentences for these vocabulary words.
  4. Winnie and Aey: Choose 5 words from the reading and write their definitions for a matching exercise.

This website has many stories to choose from. The Current Story is about Superfoods. Read the story (NOT the abridged story which is shorter). Review the story by looking at the Outline. When you're finished, go to the Activities on the left and test yourself on Vocabulary, Word Selection, Multiple Choice, Sequencing and Conclusions. There are 5 questions for each one. Write down the total number correct.

When you're finished, go back to Home and go to Story Archives. Here you can choose a reading from any topic. Follow the directions above.
